A crown of thorns, what does it mean to us as a Christian? It could mean a branch full of thorns rounded together to form a crown? Be it so. It is not a very good image of that crown with all its porcupine tentacles. It is never to be handled and cannot be handled. Whenever we hear the word thorn it is scary. It means painful. It means sorrow. It can mean many words in the flesh and in the spiritual realm. But what I would like to refer at this point is the spiritual significance of the crown of thorns. Believe me Christians; I saw this crown in my vision a few years ago. This crown that I saw was a crown of thorns floating in the air with such a radiant lights coming down from heaven. Can you imagine that vision? Please hold on to that vision as we go through the revelation of this Crown of Thorns.
We can see what the Bible says, in the book of, Mathew 27: 29; And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
Mark 15: 17; "And they clothed Him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns and put it about His head".
John 19: 2 says, "And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe."
John 19: 5; "Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And pilot saith unto them, Behold the man! What was this, for the Son of God? Can we imagine a crown of thorn to be placed on our head and what would we feel. Jesus Christ came to this earth for the whole world for the remission of our sins. He suffered for us. His sufferings are very painful. They mocked at Him and this crown of thorn was a part of the mocking. The high priest could not accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God. They were very jealous of this Man, whom they saw as a great authority. Pilate and Herod who were enemies before now found a common ground to be best friends. I can see the High priest as a broker for this friendship. The High Priest wanted to see Jesus eliminated, so that he could rule with authority in the temple. What a great mistake, but it is for the foolishness of this world God send His son Jesus Christ. And the prophecy has to be fulfilled. Today we can see these mistakes, repeating in the churches. Whether it is in the pulpit or in home, or in the street. Man's motto is very wrong without Jesus Christ in ones heart. Instead of uniting with the love that the Holy Spirit encourages us, we tend to collide and depart with murmur in our hearts. The Bible speaks about satan's desire. He wants to see God's people live a hatred life, with envy and sore. This way satan thinks he can destroy the ministry, of the work of God. Samson is an example, where he lost his strength by revealing his strength to Delilah. (Judges 16:13) If God's people would be much careful to love and be loved by the power of the Holy Spirit, through the obedience of the Word of God, we can conquer more territories and see people walk a healthy, wealthy and joyful life. It is time church that we unite as a body of Christ. And I could sense that the Lord is revealing to me;
"My dear children, can you see that Crown of Thorns that I have taken over my head, it is the suffering I have suffered for you. Now don't quarrel for that position or that crown that the world can give you. The crown that the world can give you is infamous crown and I have already taken it." Jesus Christ the mighty God, has bore all our sins and curse on his sinless body and became a sinner, so that we all will live a life of eternal glory, in the mansion he has already chosen to give us. Let me end this message with the scriptures in our mind and heart.
1 Corinthians 9: 25; "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible."
2 Timothy 4: 8; "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing."
Revelation 3:11; "Behold, I come quickly, hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."
